Industrial Hygiene Training

VIHA develops their Industrial Hygiene (IH) courses that are accredited by Board of Certified Industrial Hygiene (BCIH) The criteria for the courses are based on international and industrial standards. 

There are three levels

  • Foundation Level: Employees need an foundation  knowledge of health hazards and risks in the workplace. They also need to be provided with control measure information for their workplace.
  • Knowledge Level: Specialists of health and safety, occupational medicine, nursing and and technicians and technologists working in occupational hygiene require the technical knowledge and hands-on, practical training at this level that will enable them to take measurements, assess exposure and check the effectiveness of control measures.
  • Skill Level: Specialists and managers with responsibility for designing and delivering the occupational hygiene programs in a workplace will need to study at this level.  This will give them a deep understanding of the scientific basis of occupational hygiene as well as a high level of technical skills, and can lead to professional qualifications.
